Drain Pipe Too High For Garbage Disposal

Our cabinets are 34 1 2 tall. After getting the new disposal attached to the sink i saw why the sink is too low the wall drain is too high it s a good 2 inches higher than the disposal. Crack open the wall and somehow lower the drain if possible. Now we are going to hook up the waste pipes coming off the disposal.

If its too high and you do rig something up water will sit in. However when they moved the drain they made it too high. We have a 10 deep sink practically 11 to the drain hole. A garbage disposal has two possible connecting points.

The main drain pipe and the dishwasher drain pipe. Get a shallower sink. The problem is our kitchen sink drain center is 19 1 2 above the floor. Garbage disposal is lower than main drain.

Most garbage disposals have the outlet and downward facing waste pipe at about 10 from the top of the disposal which sits at the bottom of the sink and then there is a u or p trap that attaches from the outlet to the waste drain.
